Get Answers About Your Liver
The HelioLiver test helps you learn about your risk for liver cancer and stay proactive about your care. It's a simple blood test for liver cancer screening, now available for clinical use as a laboratory-developed test (LDT).
Why Is Early Detection of Liver Cancer So Important?
Liver cancer often hides. Symptoms may not appear until later stages, when it's harder to treat. The earlier liver cancer is found, the more treatment options you have and the better the chances of a good outcome. That's why routine liver cancer screening matters so much for people at higher risk.
Today's standard screening methods can't always detect liver cancer in its earliest stages. If you've been told you're at higher risk for liver cancer, keeping up with routine testing gives you the best chance of catching it early.
Why Early Detection Is Importantof all liver cancers are diagnosed before the cancer has spread
Introducing the HelioLiver LDT — a Simple Blood Test for Liver Cancer
The HelioLiver laboratory-developed test is a blood test for liver cancer shown in clinical trials to detect hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in its early stages. With a simple blood draw, HelioLiver gives you early-detection insights that help you stay proactive about your health, with no separate imaging appointment required.

HelioLiver is more sensitive than other currently available surveillance methods, with simple, easy-to-understand results.
Readily Available
We bill most insurances and accept all commercial and federal plans, so cost is less likely to be a barrier to your care.
Who Should Be Screened for Liver Cancer?
HelioLiver is designed for adults at higher risk of liver cancer, most often people with cirrhosis or chronic liver disease. You may be at higher risk if you have:
- Cirrhosis from any cause
- Chronic hepatitis B or hepatitis C
- Alcohol-related liver disease
- Fatty liver disease (MASLD / NAFLD)
- Other liver conditions linked to higher cancer risk, such as hereditary hemochromatosis, primary biliary cholangitis, or Wilson's disease
HelioLiver is available by a doctor's order. If you think you may be at risk, talk to your doctor about whether liver cancer screening with HelioLiver is right for you.
How Often Should You Be Tested for Liver Cancer?
For people at high risk of liver cancer, expert guidelines (AASLD) recommend surveillance about every six months. Because liver cancer can develop between visits, keeping up with regular testing is one of the most important things you can do to catch it early. Your doctor will recommend the right schedule for you, and HelioLiver is designed to fit easily into that routine as a simple blood draw.
